ABOUT ME

Hi Friends,

Hi! I’m Keerthi Nayakwadi (aka pinky), mother to a 18 months old,AVIKA, married to a wonderful person, ROHAN, and live in Boston USA, originally from Andhra Pradesh.

I am a food enthusiast who enjoys cooking for my family and grew up watching my  AMMA (mother) prepare some of the most simple and complex recipes and have picked up some tips and tricks along the way. My salutations to our ancestors who made the right food choices, their kitchen wisdom and passing on palate-pleasing culinary concoctions to us. Thanks to our grandmothers and mothers who continue to sustain and nourish our rich culinary heritage. And I believe, its our responsibility to respect and preserve the culinary tradition that have been given to us and pass it on to the next generation.

My food blog  KEERTHI'S KITCHEN is a humble attempt at sharing my passion for all things food and you will definitely find a lot of Andhra flavor in this space, home-cooked meals I prepare for my family using farm fresh produce vegetables.

I have no formal training in food photography. Taking images of food is a learning process, a creative outlet for me and an enjoyable one at that.I’m often asked if I am a working woman (or a chef:) ) and how I get the time to work on my blog. I did Msc Biotechnology, little research on CVD  before taking up my job as a full-time mother and home-maker. I also maintain Kids Zone where I blog recipes I prepare for my daughter,Avika.
keerthi's Kitchen has evolved since its early days and you will find that I write about the recipes that have been inspired by fellow bloggers, recipes from my vast collection of magazines and cookbooks or recipes from a friend or relative. With blogging bringing Western kitchens closer to me, I have started to cook and bake more Western cuisine and hence you will find international flavors in my blog. You will also find contributions by guest bloggers.
I appreciate your comments and emails and always try my best to be prompt in my reply. Sometimes due to hectic schedule, it might not be possible to answer your queries/emails promptly, but I do always get back as soon as I can.
